I went  long distance hiking on July 4th with my friends in the suburb of Beijing. The hike was organized by the government which encourages people to take part in exercises to keep fit and challenge ourselves. It was a 2-day hike going through bushes and rivers in the men tou gou area which is surrounded by mountains and hills, in all, the hike was about 96KM. My friends and I were very surprised to see so many people actually participating in this event. Later we heard that there were over 300 hundred people consisting of  about 50 teams. Many of the hikers were very good at endurance sports, which you can tell from their figures. We set off around 8:30 in the morning, and hiked 55Km the first day. Initially, we were so excited that we jumped up and down. We passed a lot of people along the road. Later on, we used all different kinds of ways to entertain ourselves to distract us from becoming tired. It was extremely difficult to keep hiking with our heavy backpacks on the natural roads. During the last 10KM, I thought my legs were going to give out with every step I took. Luckily, with the help of all my team members`, and with strong determination, our team finished the first day in 10 hours and 20 minutes. Looking back, I am so glad that I chose to do it. From this unusual experience, I believe that I can overcome anything I want to do.

下面是此次事件的简略纪实。

事件概况：

穿越母亲河—2009北京首届永定河穿越赛！

全程96公里，分两天完成！

第一天55公里，第二天41公里。

比赛路线：龙泉宾馆——琉璃渠—龙泉务–斜河涧—色树坟—王平镇—落坡岭水库—安家庄—清凉界—十八潭—培训中心（第一天终点），培训中心—下马岭—太子墓—雁翅—青白口—碣石—东岭—珠窝水库——沿河城—幽州城

路况： 门头沟比赛是在河道中进行，多数地段可能都不能跑。期间有的地方要涉水（第一天）跋山（第二天），有的地方是鹅卵石路，有的地方有杂草荆棘。

也许初生牛犊不怕虎，也许是因为人多力量大，也许是我们都想尝尝极限的滋味！EQ英语组成两个队：EQ铁人队和噼里啪啦铁蛋队兴冲冲的去了！

而我们的主题就被定义成了： 享受运动，回归自然

事实证明：我被严重的“忽悠”了！那一整天，我都一直活在一个信念里：不远了，还有10公里！ 每走过一个路人我都会问：请问还有多远？回答总会是：不远了，还有10公里！这样的回答一直延续了N个小时！直到下午3点钟以后，才变成了：不远了，还有5公里吧！

我们自娱自乐过，我们游戏过，我们快走小跑过，可是无论何如都比不了：信念的力量！EQ英语的每一个同学们都有不同的信念！边走边想。。。

信念1：不远了，还有5公里！

信念2：前方终点有——冰镇啤酒！

信念3：就快可以坐下了！

信念！！！支撑我们一直努力的走下去！走到最后！

坚持就是胜利！10小时40分钟后，我们的EQ的铁人团队终于在终点露出胜利的笑容！
