Some examples of these are: ‘look after’ somebody; ‘come up against’ difficulties; ‘look forward to’ something in the future. You should try to increase your knowledge of phrasal verbs.//短语动词是运用惯用搭配最好的例子。例如.‘照顾’某人;‘遇到’困难。你应该尽量多学习一些短语动词。
短语动词举例:
- bring someone down 使人忧伤
解释:make unhappy
例句:This sad music is bringing me down.
- bring someone up 抚养
解释:raise a child
例句:My grandparents brought me up after my parents died.
- bring something up 提起(话题)
解释:start talking about a subject
例句:My mother walks out of the room when my father brings up sports.
- call something off 取消
解释:cancel
例句:Jason called the wedding off because he wasn’t in love with his fiancé.
- calm down 镇定
解释:relax after being angry
例句:You are still mad. You need to calm down before you drive the car.
- chip in 帮助
解释:help
例句:If everyone chips in we can get the kitchen painted by noon.
- come across something 巧遇
解释:find unexpectedly
例句:I came across these old photos when I was tidying the closet.
- come apart 分开
解释:separate
例句:The top and bottom come apart if you pull hard enough.
- come down with something 生病
解释:become sick
例句:My nephew came down with chicken pox this weekend.
