EQ BOOK is coming!

Dear All, I’d like to share some good news with you – with the release of our IELTS book from FLTRP（外研社） confirmed for next month, I can now start to release all the past IELTS questions I have collected over the past few years (I have hundreds and hundreds) and have included the EQ Formula numbers so you know how to answer them and eventually fulfill your high-scoring dreams.

As a native English speaker who has lived in Beijing for many years (and done projects with the British Council) I know probably 50-60 IELTS examiners (this is how I know the book works).  All of the questions below have been verified as real by them.

Remember, every IELTS question can be answered with one of EQ 31 formulas.

Let’s start with recent questions from the past month.  ALL of these questions have been asked in the previous month and are STILL being asked:

• Is the transport system convenient where you live?

Formula 7: Is X popular in your country?

This is NOT a question about where you live or the transport system – it is about groups of people.  To get a high score you need to talk about the groups of people where you live and whether or not the transport system is convenient for them.

• Do you think safe-driving is important?

Formula 14: How important is X

This is a “degree” question (like all “importance”) questions.  It is testing your ability to talk about shades of grey.

• Do you like working with other people?

Formula 2: “What do you like about X”

The key to Formula 2 questions (and this is a classic example) is to pick a thing you like about X (working with other people) and then give anecdotes.  These questions are usually at the beginning of the test and are testing your ability to give simple stories.

• Do you like to travel?

Formula 2: “What do you like about X”

See my comments above.  THESE ARE THE SAME QUESTION!

• Which country would you like to travel to?

Formula 15: What do you hope to do in the future?

This is a future question (testing your ability to use the future tense!).  To get a high score you need to choose a country (it doesn’t matter which) and talk about why you hope to travel there (hence Formula 15)

• What do you think is interesting in your country for travelers?

Formula 6: What do you like most about X?

This question is a little bit tricky.  It is really asking what you like to visit most in your country (hence Formula 6), but making it a bit more complex because you need to justify this for a traveler (and not just yourself).  But, just choose what you like to visit most and you can easily say that travelers would like that too!
