I think that animals should be protected because it is moral and right to do so. I believe that if we do not make efforts to preserve animals’ lives from dangers we are responsible for, that doesn’t say very much about human civilization’s sense of ethics. Rather, I would say it would be quite uncivilized and even barbaric to carelessly let animals die after polluting the environment and removing natural habitat and resources like we have.

There are multiple ways in which human activity causes some animals species to go extinct. One of the most common is habitat degredation, or habitat loss. With human overpopulation and constant expansion and development, humans are constantly taking away animal habitats for personal usage, and stripping the land of its resources. With no place to live, and no natural resources, a species cannot survive. This is sadly the current case for the endangered Giant Panda, although I believe it is now starting to make a comeback.
